Māris Briežkalns and his musicians, "The Rigas Ritmi Festival All Stars", were real Latvian culture messengers. While performing at the New York club "The Blue Note", they brought out their national approach to jazz, that perfectly unites and matches with Americas jazz aesthetics. This was a significant, big first step in cultural exchange between Latvia and USA, - at the beginning of this week in world class jazz club ongoing debut of latvians assessed "The Blue Notes" jazz club record brand "Half Note" vice president Jeff Leveson.
Latvian musicians performing in "The Blue Notes" is historically significant event for three reasons: 1) because Latvians for the first time were heared in world jazz Mecco, homeland of this music; 2) In their concerts they surprised and thrilled with special Latvian jazz - our classical music arrangement in jazz; 3) they managed to establish far-reaching cooperation.
